Does PG&E Own Us or Not?

February 28, 2010 by Anonymous

PG&E has been very open about the fact that they wrote Proposition 16 because they intend to keep the customers they have, no matter what the majority of the customers want. Living too long as a well-fed, pampered monopoly seems to have given PG&E a sense of entitlement. If we want to get our electricity elsewhere, PG&E seems to interpret that as an attack. We are not so much their treasured customers as we are surfs who need to be kept in line. And PG&E has no problem using their gross amount of profits to screw us with our own money. PG&E plans to spend at least $35 million of our money to buy Proposition 16, a change to the California state constitution which will effectively lock us into their domain forever.

So the question is...Does PG&E own us or not? The election this June will apparently answer that question.
